How We Measure Upholstery Sofa
Furniture dimensions are measured from the highest, deepest, and widest points of the item, accounting for overhangs, angles, outward curves, and arms.
Width (W)
The widest distance of a sofa from left to right typically refers to the measurement from the outer edge of one armrest to the outer edge of the other.
Depth(D)
The front-to-back depth of a sofa typically refers to the distance from the backrest to the very front edge of the seat cushion.
Height(H)
The distance from the floor to the highest point of a sofa typically refers to the distance from the highest point of the sofa's backrest to the floor.
Diagonal
Starting from the lowest front corner of the left (or right) armrest—typically the location of the sofa leg pad—it traverses the space along the side of the sofa, extending all the way to the highest and furthest-back point of the backrest on the opposite side.
